A Welcoming Home to Your Authentic Self
Meet Meg
(She/Her/Hers)
Welcome to Meg Larsen Acupuncture! Whether you are curious about what acupuncture is, how you can learn more or would like to experience services yourself in a clinical setting, my hope is that I can help you navigate that journey to the best of my ability.
A general interest in anatomy and functional movement (or human body nerd journey) began in high school when I was playing soccer at a competitive level. Recovery and injury rehabilitation increasingly spiked my interest and I received a Bachelor of Kinesiology Degree with honours from the University of the Fraser Valley. After a break from school and working both as a Kinesiologist and one-on-one with neurodivergent youth, I began to notice multiple links between the food we put into our bodies and the ability for us to heal and experience our surrounding worlds. As I continued exploring these positions, I obtained a Diploma in Applied Holistic Nutrition with Honours from the Institute of Holistic Nutrition in Vancouver to deepen my understanding of our connection with food, environment, and healing.
During this time I had been receiving acupuncture treatments for a back injury that occurred while snowboarding, and my love for Traditional Chinese Medicine began to grow exponentially. Not only was it improving my mobility, and reducing pain, but the connection with my own healing was something I had never experienced through additional services. Potentially, there were more layers to uncover, and the trajectory of how I would be able to help my community felt clear!
I moved to Victoria, BC where I would then receive a Diploma of Acupuncture with honours from Pacific Rim College. I am truly grateful to practice this beautiful medicine on the unceded and traditional territories of the Lək̓ʷəŋən Peoples and am continuously eager to share it with those who are interested in receiving treatments with a unique blend of the teachings I have gathered. My clinical focuses are acute or chronic pain management, reproductive health, mental health and digestive function (among many more).
I aim to collaborate with you and any additional health professionals on your wellness team as best I can in order to facilitate and encourage harmonization within the body.
Let’s dive in!
Services Provided
Acupuncture
INITIALS & FOLLOW-UPS
A 75-minute initial appointment includes reviewing one’s medical history and discussing present concerns. This is followed by acupuncture (needling) or other modalities such as cupping, gua sha, and electro-stimulation. Subsequent visits are 50 minutes and may include the previously listed modalities as well, depending on the goal of treatment.
Cupping Therapy
30 MINUTE TREATMENTS
For those who have had an initial appointment, and would like to focus on one body area with cupping therapy. This provides focused attention on releasing tension and pain in the area of concern while also providing an option for those who prefer not to have needles during treatment.
ICBC
NOW OFFERING!
Treatments follow the same trajectory as Initials and Follow-ups. If you’d like to include acupuncture in your recovery, ICBC now covers 12 visits within the first 12 weeks following the motor vehicle accident.
